Boca Raton, Fla., February 22, 2005 –
Interfuse Technology Corp. today introduced the OfficeLock® Secure
Collaboration Reader, a no-charge program that allows licensed OfficeLock
users to securely exchange information with occasional internal and
external correspondents.
OfficeLock automatically provides policy-enforced, end-point security for
native-format data files and email messages within and beyond the
corporate network. OfficeLock embeds corporate security-policy attributes
– including encryption and rights management – within the file, enabling
businesses to protect their information on other networks, independent of
any server connection or network security level.
OfficeLock licensees who use the Secure Reader to collaborate with
non-licensees maintain automatic compliance with the enterprise security
policy. Use of the Secure Reader is intuitive and requires no special
training. The Secure Reader has three main areas of functionality:
Encrypt/Decrypt; Application Integration; and Secure Workgroup
Collaboration.
“The OfficeLock Secure Reader allows knowledge workers to include third
parties in their secure workgroups without additional cost. This extends
the security-policy-compliant exchange and collaboration of confidential
information to external correspondents who are not connected to a common
server. This program helps make OfficeLock the most complete,
cost-effective and easy-to-use file-security solution available today,”
said Interfuse President and CEO Phil Viscomi.
Viscomi added, “We have all seen recent news reports about the breach of
sensitive personal-identity and health care information in Florida and
California. We believe if that data were protected by OfficeLock and the
Secure Reader, those breaches could have been eliminated.”
Examples of Secure Reader use include: gaining authorized access to
sensitive HIPAA-related individual health information; sharing financial
information between CPAs and their clients; and securing sensitive and
proprietary information on laptop and home-office computers. Today,
OfficeLock is used to control access to sensitive files and email messages
in commercial, government and consumer applications.
